Michael Denver’s practice is focused on complex business litigation. Michael has significant experience in business and partnership disputes, class actions, insurance coverage, securities, and ERISA employee welfare benefit litigation.

Michael has served as class counsel representing policyholders and victims of white collar crime and has also served as counsel to Independent Fiduciaries appointed by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Michael presently represents the Independent Fiduciary selected by the U.S. Department of Labor to deal with one of the largest health insurance frauds in this nation’s history. In that ongoing case, roughly $16 Million has been collected to pay the $25 Million in unpaid medical bills which resulted from the nationwide fraud.
Michael represented two separate classes of persons whose Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 exchange funds totaling $250 Million were lost as a result of theft by exchange organizations. Over $225 Million in settlements were negotiated in those complex matters.
Michael recently represented two individuals in a real estate partnership dispute. The case resolved favorably with the defendants agreeing to pay Michael’s clients several million dollars.
Michael volunteers time and energy, giving back to the community by serving on the Board of the Montecito Branch of the Channel Islands YMCA and by mentoring former student athletes entering the legal profession.
Michael enjoys the many outdoor activities Santa Barbara has to offer, and works to remain athletic. While in college, Michael was a member of the UCLA Bruins’ NCAA Division I Volleyball Team.
