John Galvin represents individuals and family groups in connection with estate, gift and income tax planning, business planning, asset protection, family business succession planning and charitable planning. In addition, Mr. Galvin represents both individual and institutional fiduciaries in probate, post-mortem and lifetime trust administration, court and non-judicial accountings, and the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of trust and estate accounts. Mr. Galvin is also a certified public accountant and uses this background to assist clients and their accountants in the preparation of Federal and California gift and estate tax returns and in resolving controversies with the IRS and other taxing authorities in connection with income, gift and estate tax filings and sales and use tax issues.
Mr. Galvin relocated to the Santa Ynez Valley from Reno, Nevada in 2004. Mr. Galvin has served on the boards of a number of professional and community organizations, including the Santa Ynez Valley Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Northern Nevada and the Los Olivos School District Foundation. Mr. Galvin is a volunteer coach and referee for youth soccer in the local AYSO league as well as youth basketball in the local YMCA league.
